BOOKWORMS: "The happy prince and The selfish giant"

The author selected for our lattest session of the Book Club was Oscar Wilde, a well-known Irish novelist, poet and playwright. After completing school, Wilde moved to LondonIn 1888, he published a collection of children’s stories, "The Happy Prince and Other Tales", from where we took the 2 tales we are reading this month: The happy prince and The selfish giant.
After having read aloud the first one, suffering with the generosity of the prince and the swallow, we received one of the prince´s jewels as a memory: a rubby or a sapphire. Then we became gardeners for a day to recreate the garden of The selfish giant: we took a pot of yoghourt to the session and we planted some seeds of marigold in it, adding some soil and water. Luckily, with a little bit of patience and care, we will enjoy a beautiful flower in a few weeks.
