Día de Rosalía

O 23 de febreiro conmemórase o día do nacemento de Rosalía de Castro. Como xa se publicou semanas atrás esta celebración, que ata agora se facía o 24 de febreiro, debido ao recente descubrimento fai que esta data se traslade a un día antes, podedes acceder á información na páxina web da Fundación Rosalía de Castro.

Palabras no mar

Esta semana celébrase o día do nacemento de Rosalía de Castro, poeta galega que trasnformou as palabras en fermosas poesías. Queremos saber se coñecedes algunhas das palabras relacionadas co ámbito mariño. Tamén teredes que facer como Rosalía e escribir un poema que inclúa dúas das palabras que se propoñen nas preguntas.

BOOKWORMS CLUB: "A new Atlantis"

Yesterday we, the Bookworms, held a new session of our club to find out more about the Atlantis, the mysterious civilisation which disappeared under the sea thousands of years ago. After having read the first 4 chapters of "A new Atlantis" we are fascinated by this story, based on the real Atlantis. It is a mixture of a dystopia, a sci-fi and a historic novel.  There are some topics reflected in it: the importance of the family, loyalty, friendship, new discoveries, resilience, hope in the future, patience, the elders ... We spoke about our favourite characters and we tried to anticipate the ending. These are some of the questions we mentioned:

Imos atrás no tempo!

Achegámonos á orixe dos océanos hai millóns de anos, como xurdiu a vida, iremos percorrendo ata chegar á Idade Antiga ata un mar que tivo e ten grande actividade comercial. Hai diversas hipóteses sobre a creación dos océanos, podedes investigar e tratar de coñecelas.

BOOKLAND CLUB: The land down under

Did you know that if we dig a hole in London we can reach Australia? This is what the protagonists of our current reading, "Five children and it", were trying to do when they dicovered the sand fairy. So they inmediately forgot about Australia and they started making wishes and getting into trouble, as you know. But we didn´t forget it, on the contrary, we made a wish related to it: "I wish we could meet someone from Australia who could explain some features of this amazing country, also known as "The land down under". And voilà! Wish granted!!! Yesterday, we received the visit of Belinda Beer, an Australian teacher in our town. She explained many things about her big country and we learned about the Outback, the Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef, the aborigines and its unique animals such as the wombat, the emu, the koala, or the kangaroo. We even had the chance to see some Australian dollars and we tried the Aussie kids´ favourite food: fairy bread. Yummy!!!

Encontro con Rogelio Santos Queiruga

Mañá venres o alumnado de 6º de EP terá un encontro na BiblioLab con Rogelio Santos Queiruga, mariñeiro preocupado polo coidado e preservación da fauna mariña. Contaralles as súas experiencias no mar e falará de como podemos contribuír no coidado do medio mariño.

O alumnado de 5ºC faralle unha entrevista, que levan preparando unhas semanas, no estudio de radio de Emilia na Onda.

Que mellor forma para traballar o ODS14 que cun pescador da nosa contorna!

BOOK CLUBS: Our radio programme

After a long wait, here is the first programme of THE BOOK NOOK, a brand new radio show made entirely in English for and by you, the readers of the school book clubs. And the results couldn´t be better. 

But what is it about? Well,  THE BOOK NOOK is a radio show about books and stories and readings and English and traditions and culture and readers and authors and literature and... You cannot miss it! It has got 5 different sections:

Expedicións pola ciencia e polo mar

Seguimos coñecendo as grandes expedicións nos mares e océanos, esta semana achegarémosnos a unha travesía que se realizou para tentar procurar un remedio a unha enfermidade. A importancia da ciencia e a investigación en tempos de epidemias e pandemias pódese comprobar nesta expedicón que tivo lugar no século XIX.

Peixes que nadan na biblioLab

No mes de febreiro os nenos/as de 3º de EP acudirán aos VenreXperimentos que se realizan na biblioLab. Nesta ocasión realizarán o experimento no que se descubre o que é a tensión superficial a través de facer que un peixe nade na cubeta de auga preparada.
